Here is my winning entry for the #blogchatterbloghop for the theme: If you could fly, where would you go. [Format: Poetry]

Hope you imagine it and enjoy it as much as I liked writing this one!

Fly away…

If I could fly, don’t ask me where I would go,

Ask me where would I not?

With the world beneath my feet,

Wouldn’t I give everywhere a shot?

……….

Up the tallest mountain, down the deepest valley,

Cliched places, yet I would go,

Behind the whitewashed sunrise in Greece,

And soak in the sunset in Ohio.

………..

I would swoosh and save the little boy,

From drowning in the flood waters,

And swoop away the construction worker,

Falling off a building, for whom nobody bothers.

………..

I would go to the northern lights,

And collect the flares in a glass jar,

Feel what is it to not be chained,

Sheer joy I had imagined only from afar.

…………

I would fly and fly high among the planets,

Play hide and seek with the stars,

Possibly discover our next home to survive on,

Cause we have almost destroyed this one of ours.

………..

I would flap my wings and save the world,

Enjoying the new-found freedom along the way,

I would pause, rest and appreciate what I’ve got,

Then rise once again and fly away.
